30 Jan NHC calls for funding applications for heritage projects
In a bid to promote and preserve our rich and diverse heritage, the National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) has opened applications for non-profit companies (NPCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and educational institutions nationally to get funding for their heritage projects. Passionate South African organisations are invited to submit applications by 28 February 2019, 12h00.
The NHC annually invites heritage practitioners who run non-profit organisations with heritage-focussed projects that have a national footprint to apply to have their projects funded. An independent committee will adjudicate the proposals, from which those projects that adequately meet the standards will be recommended to receive the much-needed funding for their heritage projects.
Funding for this term will give priority to proposals in the following areas: Heritage Research and Publication, Liberation Heritage, Education & Training in Heritage, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Women and Heritage, Youth and Heritage; and Indigenous Groups heritage initiatives in the country.
The maximum amount for funding of heritage projects is Five Hundred Thousands Rands (R500, 000.00) provided all criteria are met.
The application form and other compulsory documents for the application are available for download from the NHC website: www.nhc.org.za. Interested applicants are also welcomed to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the Funding Unit on (012) 348 1663 between 08h00 and 16h30 if they wish to interact with us.
Applicants are expected to meet all the funding requirements of the NHC as stipulated in the terms and conditions, Heritage Funding Policy and the Heritage Funding Guidelines, which are available on our website.
The documents for funding application can be posted or hand delivered to the NHC offices at the following address: Domus Building, Office no. 016, 57 Kasteel Road, Lynnwood Glen, Pretoria between 08h00 and 16h30.
