The National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) in partnership with the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and SABC radio stations; Munghana Lonene FM, Phalaphala FM and Thobela FM announce the finalists for the 9th annual Golden Shield Heritage Awards in all the ten categories.

During Heritage month a public call was issued for nomination and closed early November 2022 with an impressive response from South African Heritage and Culture enthusiasts. The Adjudication panel consisted of Heritage practitioners from different heritage disciplines. 

The following are finalists in the various categories:

    • Voice of Heritage:
      • Nomatlou Mahlangu and


        • Lucas Ntsimako

    • Heritage Journalism:
      • Bongani Pikinini and


        • Thapelino Medupe

    • Corporate Heritage Management:


        • Lufuno Netshituni

    • Heritage Education:
      • South African Heritage Publishers  and


        • Ms. Ndivhudzannyi Emelina Sigogo

    • Heritage Social Media Influencer:


        • Tinyiko Khoza
