This Heritage month, the NHC in collaboration with the Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts & Culture and University of Limpopo will be keeping South Africa’s heritage alive by recording, documenting and producing knowledge through a public lecture that will be looking into Women Activism since the 27 years of democracy in the year of Mme Mmakgomo Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke.
The virtual public lecture will be graced by the panelists that will reflect on Mmakgomo’s values and beliefs in Education, gender-equality and multilingualism 150 years later and 27 years into democracy, has women’s position and roles in society changed and if so, why?:
– Father Smangaliso Mkhatshwa from the Moral Regeneration Movement
– Ms Nono Bapela from the Move Up Agency and
– Dr Johannes Rammala from the University of Limpopo
Ms Jane Mufamadi, Chief Executive of Freedom Park, will facilitate the public lecture.
