SATMA Awards will be hosting the biggest cultural parade and carnival this weekend of the 12th of August 2017, commencing from Gugu Dlamini Park Extension – Workshop Durban. We are expecting thousands of people including SAPS brass band, SANDF brass bands as well as community brass brands. Thousands of Izintombi and cultural groups have confirmed their attendance; with more than 115 groups expected to perform during the day.

In the evening, we will be hosting the announcements of nominees’ ceremony at Durban ICC. Whereby SATMA Awards will be announcing the 2017 nominees.

Some of the people who are expected to attend the planned SATMA Awards events on the 12th August 2017 are:  Cllr. Zandile Gumede – Ethekwini Mayor  Dr. Zweli Mkhize – ANC TG  MEC Bongiwe Mbingo Gigaba from Northern Cape  MEC Ontlametse Mochwara  from Bokone Bophirima  Dr. Magome Albanos Masike from Bokone Bophirima  MEC Sbongiseni Dlomo from KwaZulu Natal

We are also expecting legends as well as celebrities. The programme director for the evening event will be Dingaan Khumalo and co-host will be Jacinta Ngobese. Tha Simelani will be welcoming our guests on the red carpet. On this day we will also host the SATMA Awards Fashion Culture which is our annual fashion show, where we showcase our traditional outfits from talented local designers.
