In the spirit of Mandela month, the agency of the Department of arts and culture, National Heritage Council of South Africa together with Munghana Lonene FM commemorated the late statesman, Tata Mandela by lending a helping hand to the needy community of Limpopo.

The young girls’ dignity will be restored after a donation of R10, 000.00 in cash which was donated on Wednesday, 19 July to the Creseldah Education Foundation in Limpopo for purchase of sanitary towels for young girls adopted by the foundation. It is reported that 7 million girls in SA, miss school due to the lack of sanitary towels or means to buy them.
As a tribute to Rolihlahla Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy, who would be 99 years this year, South Africans and the international community give back to the communities by making a difference.
“The Nelson Mandela Foundation has stressed that doing good should not only ends on Mandela, we need to make everyday a Mandela Day. Let us remember that this is in honour of a man who devoted his life to the service of humanity. Let us all embody his values by adopting the baton of leadership and make a difference, not matter of the magnitude of the contribution,” said Advocate Sonwabile Mancotywa, CEO of the NHC.

On 21 June, the NHC and Munghana Lonene will be at Bodwe Drop in Centre where they will receive R10 000 in cash for educational items as well as other needs for Centre.
“The legacy of Nelson Mandela has such historical value to humanity that it has a place to be recognised as heritage. We feel proud as the NHC to commemorate the legacy of a giant that was the first recipient of the Ubuntu honours” said Mancotywa.
