Sobukwe and Mahlangu honoured by UNISA

Unisa buildings renamedThe University of South Africa (UNISA) renamed its landmark buildings in Pretoria after two struggle icons, during the Freedom month–April, to mark 20 years of democracy.

The Vista Building will be named after Robert Sobukwe and the Vudec Building after Solomon Mahlangu.

Sobukwe, the first President of the PAC and Mahlangu an MK Freedom fighter have been honored for the indelible mark left on the South African socio-political landscape. “In the 20 years celebration of our Democracy, it’s great to see higher education institutions like UNISA preserving our country’s heritage, for it to be known by future generations to come,” says Advocate Sonwabile Mancotywa, CEO of the NHC.
