Cultural groups from accross the country paraded the streets of Durban just before being treated to a riverting entertainment in the packed arena at the South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) that was held at the ICC on 3 October.
Over 1500 attended the cultural spactacle in the vening gala dinner. The event was exciting despite the overbooked seats. It made some people uspset but all ultimatly realisedd that "the more the marrier. The lifetime achievements awards went to Yvonne Chaka-Chaka, Sibongile Khumalo, Mbongeni Ngema, Dorothy Masuku and Dolly Rathebe for their contribution in taking South African traditional music to the international stage.
