HUMAN RIGHTS PUBLIC LECTURE: Seeking restoration of Human Dignity through our Heritage in the 30 years of democracy
The National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) through the Resistance and Liberation
Heritage Programme in collaboration with the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) will host
a public lecture to commemorate Human Rights month under the theme: Seeking restoration
of Human dignity through our Heritage in the 30 years of democracy.
The lecture seeks to remind South Africans about the sacrifices that accompanied the
struggle for the attainment of democracy in South Africa and reinforce our commitment to the
Bill of Rights as enshrined in our Constitution.
Professor Barney Pityana will deliver a key note address. Mr Tsheko Tsehlane a Council
member of the NHC together with Ms Phekane Violet, Chairperson of RV Selope Thema
Foundation will form part of the discussants during the lecture.
